Tony Facetti

Tony Facetti was the model for Wally Slocki and Teddy Marton. As Jimmy Fields said “Tony was the absolute best karate man I have ever seen”. His technique was not only very clean but amazingly powerful in each and every technique.

Tony started training with Masami Tsuroka at Mac Mya’s weight lifting gym and became very good friends with Benny Allen and Bob Dalgleish. So when they left training at Tsuroka’s Dojo he went with them and trained with Benny from then on and eventually received his Black Belt from Benny Allen. Tony was the person who brought Wally Slocki to train at Eastern.

Tony was a very hyper person who loved to train dogs for fighting. Now days not looked on favorably but in the 1960’s no one seemed to care much about it. He actually built a cage around a treadmill to train his dogs cardio.

At one tournament in Buffalo Tony competed in kata performing Heinan 4 and completed it in 5 seconds to win first place. Few could believe the sure speed he had.

Tony was as well one tough cookie as he was so fast and so powerful but shyed away from the limelight.
