Frank Wishart
Starting out under the tutelage of Billie Melbourne at the Germania club in Hamilton Frank fastly became a teacher of quality students and shared ownership of the Eastern Karate School at 45 King William on the third floor where many a boy became a man. Frank was never a champion in tournaments but there is few that would want to fight him in the street. He did however compete at one of Masami Tsuruoka big tournaments at Varsity Arena and shocked everyone by coming out with front kick and reverse punch that would broken open a barn door. He later went on to partner with Benny in the Hamilton school at 329 Ottawa street and then he and Tim Collingwood along with Vince Castellano oped a school on King Street east in Hamilton.
Frank was also the driving force behind the Ontario Open Karate Championships at Mohawk College. The tournament was turned over to Armie Rizzo who really developed it nicely and it is now in the hands of Burlington Martial Artist Blake Paterson.
